How to administer – reconstitution and how to inject
UpZep 60mg comes as a lyophilized powder in a single vial, with one amp of bacteriostatic water included
Reconstitution:
Reconstitute with 1ml or 2ml of bacteriostatic water, depending on your preferred concentration
Inject the water slowly down the side of the vial
Swirl gently until fully dissolved—do not shake
Injection:
Use a U100 insulin syringe (29–31 gauge)
Dosages (if reconstituted with 2ml bacteriostatic water):
2.5mg = 16.5 units – week 1
5mg = 33 units – week 2 & 3
7.5mg = 50 units – week 4 & maintenance
Inject subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm once per week
Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab prior to inecting
Rotate injection sites weekly to prevent irritation
